Canyoneering in Mt. Baldy, CA |
Experiential. What a word right? According to the ever-faithful dictionary.com, experiential is an adjective "involving or based on experience and observation". In normal people terms, experiential education is learning by doing, and growing and being changed physically, emotionally, and mentally from your experiences. That is our whole aim here at ELAC, to incorporate growing and learning into awesome trips like kayaking La Jolla Shores, Rock Climbing, Canoeing on San Diego Bay, Canyoneering, Hiking, and more! The Experiential Learning and Adventure Center here on campus is your one stop spot for adventure, so get excited. Here is the link to make it easy http://www.sandiego.edu/explore/.
Can you believe it is already the end of February? Time can really pass by quickly and while we students are young and experiencing "the best four years of our life", it is time to appreciate the wonders of San Diego. I, with the help of other guides and our trusty cameras, will be taking you on a tour-esque journey through the adventures and expeditions ELAC has to offer. Today, right now, is the time to experience challenge, experience nature, and experience the people and places that come in and out of our lives so fast. It is up to you to make the most of this rich city we know as our home and our school, so count on us to make it happen!
