As a graduating senior I know my days at this school are numbered. While some of my peers experience senioritis, or at least use that word as an excuse to sit on the couch and watch MMA fights on Spike, I’m trying to encourage activity on campus. Every day that goes by is one less day we can experience the “best four years of our life” –in my case the best five years of my life. What will I remember most about being in college? Twenty years from now I'm not going to remember the impressive array of flavors at YogurtLand. I might not even remember the tear jerking moments of Steve Carell’s last episode on The Office. But I guarantee you I'll remember getting outdoors to Mission Gorge, enjoying beautiful weather with friends.
A great thing about the Experiential Learning and Adventure Center (besides the name) is they take students on amazing trips to locations around San Diego that wouldn't be possible for the average student to do on his or her own. Say you want to go Kayaking but don’t own a car (or a kayak), ELAC has you covered. Maybe you want to get over your fear of heights and try rock climbing, ELAC has all the necessary gear AND professionally trained climbing guides.
Let’s make March the month of doing “IT”. I encourage everyone to get outside and soak up some radiation filled sun. Make your Ivy League friends jealous with a FaceBook album of sunny climbing pictures. Bring your friends and join us Saturday March 5th for an adventurously awesome rock climbing trip to Mission Gorge.
Cheers!
Jonathan
